The Saint Clement Justice Ministry (formerly the Human Concerns Commission) focuses our parish's response to the physical and social welfare needs of our parish family and the broader community. Raising awareness of our responsibility to address social issues in light of the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, promoting direct service opportunities for parishioners and participating in actions to promote social justice in our civic life are some of the ways we place our faith in action.
Justice Ministry's mission is to:
- Help parishioners become good stewards by moving from faith to action;
- Provide concrete opportunities for parishioners of all ages to serve the needs of the poor and vulnerable; and
- Invite parishioners to join in solidarity with all people of goodwill to redress the systemic injustices present in our public life.
The Justice Ministry also coordinates the sale of “Chicago Shares” vouchers.
Help Send Our Sister Parish Pilgrims to Rome Canonization
Saint Clement is raising funds to assist three Inmaculada Conception parishioners and three members of the Jean Donovan Foundation from our sister parish community in El Salvador to attend the canonization of Oscar Romero in Rome on October 2. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to cover their transportation and lodging costs. Any surplus funds raised will be contributed to our sister parish and the Jean Donovan Foundation.
