Parroquia San José Donation Thank You

Many thanks to all who donated to this year’s Lenten Almsgiving in support of our three year partnership with Parroquia San José (St. Joseph Parish) in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. Saint Clement was able to send $22,719.56 to assist the parish as they rebuild their lives following the devastation of Hurricane Maria in September 2017.

Thank You for Making Service Day a Success!

On a gorgeous, sunny Saturday afternoon, 400 parishioners took part in the 13th annual Clement Service Day. From the minute volunteers arrived, the spirit and energy of April 28th was palpable. Due to the large number of participants, we were able to send 23 teams to 22 different sites across the city, from churches and schools in need, to homeless shelters, intergenerational homes and more. Service projects ranged from landscaping to painting to furniture assembly, bus cleaning, meal preparation and serving, and much more.

Our Strengths For The Journey program runs at various times throughout the year and provides the means for our parishioners to discover their God given gifts in a small group context over three weeks.

Thank You For Your Generosity to This Year’s Jesse Tree!

Throughout Advent, Saint Clement parishioners generously supported 11 local charities with their wish lists for the season. Incredibly, all 1,450 tags were taken from the trees this year! Overall, as a parish, we were able to donate more than $13,750 in gift cards and donations, as well as more than 1,325 items of clothing, toys and more.

Update From 22 de Abril, Saint Clement's Sister Community in El Salvador

In recognition of the 30th anniversary of the relationship between Saint Clement and our sister parish in El Salvador, a few parishioners from Saint Clement and a member of Millar Chapel at Northwestern spent time with the people of 22 de abril in May. Clement Scouts Give Back at Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen

We couldn’t be prouder of our parish’s fifth grade Cub Scouts Pack 3000 Weblos II who volunteered for two and a half hours at the Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen on Friday, May 19. Together, they served over 200 hot meals and assembled 130 sack lunches for the less fortunate. They also served refreshments, cleaned tables and interacted with the evening's guests.

Young Adult Winter Retreat Tackles Topics About Living with Faith and Courage

Set in the lovely landscape of Wisconsin lake country, St. Benedict’s Abbey was an ideal host for the Saint Clement Young Adult Community as they embarked on their annual winter retreat. The theme for this year’s retreat was “Be Bold: Living with Faith and Courage,” and many participants jumped at the chance to get out of the city and recharge.

“That weekend was everything I needed it to be and more,” said parishioner Grace Ahlering. “A good getaway, time to refocus my faith, and an opportunity to make some great friends."

Saint Clement Joined Together for a Successful Second Annual Christmas Dinner for the Homeless

Our Saint Clement community came together this holiday season to host our Second Annual Christmas Dinner for the Homeless. We served 123 guests in Centennial Hall on December 28!

Parishioners were ready to greet guests who arrive early for dinner with hot chocolate, a conversation, and a smile. Guests were welcomed where they were personally greeted again and were shown where to sit and relax in the warmth of the cafeteria.
