OPPORTUNITIES TO ENCOUNTER GOD IN ALPHA
- Experience Alpha: Alpha is a series of conversations that explore life, spirituality and faith in a fun, non-judgmental and open environment. It’s perfect for everyone -- skeptics, church-goers looking to deepen their faith, the curious, or those who want to talk about life’s real issues with new friends. There are both in-person and virtual sessions available, as well as morning and evening options, beginning either September 22 or 23. Learn more and register here!
- Grounded in Faith: This interactive course explores the foundational elements and core concepts of discipleship. We will dive into topics like: building a personal relationship with Jesus, letting Him take you from good to great, dealing with mistakes and regret, cultivating a deeper relationship with God through prayer and more! Grounded in Faith is a perfect next step if you have already experienced Alpha but all are welcome! Opportunities to Encounter God in the Holy Spirit
As you discern how the Holy Spirit is moving in your own life, inspired by these community conversations, we invite you to consider these opportunities:
- Holy Spirit Novena for Racial Healing & Justice: Are you wavering in a commitment you made last year for racial justice? Are you unsure how you can learn more or do more to help heal our Chicago community? We invite you to spend some time in prayer with the resources used in our May Novena (found here) and to discern how the Holy Spirit can guide you and our community on the journey of anti-racism and inclusion.
- Strengths for the Journey: This Strengths for the Journey program offers the opportunity to discover and leverage your God-given talents with experienced facilitators and fellow parishioners. The summer series will be held over Zoom on June 2, 9, & 16 from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. Learn more and register here!
On April 10-11, we focused on the theme Encountering God's Mercy, and heard witness talks from parishioners Luana Lienhart, Kathryn Brill*, and Allen Wesolowski. You can view the videos of their presentations below. *Kathryn Brill's not available online due to technical issue.
Opportunities to Encounter God's Mercy
- Sacrament of Reconciliation: Reconciliation is a gift of healing and forgiveness. Through the sacrament we are assured of God's loving forgiveness and we are reconciled with God, our faith community, and ourselves. A priest is available for individual confession in the sacrament of reconciliation every Saturday from 4:00 p.m. - 4:40 p.m. Learn more and register here.
- RCIA Team: The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process by which new members are brought or otherwise fully initiated into the life of the Church. If you are interested in walking with those who come to Saint Clement to explore their faith and joining the church, please contact Fr. Matt Litak.

This program offers the opportunity to genuinely explore faith in an open, non-judgmental environment while building community in a small group. Opportunities to Answer Your Call to Service
- Greeting & Disinfecting Teams at Mass: Members of these teams make it possible for us to continue worshipping safely in-person. By giving just 25 minutes of your time before or after Mass, you are enabling our parish family to encounter God through in-person community worship. Learn more and sign up here.
- Meal Programs to Feed the Hungry: Saint Clement supports a number of meal programs through Catholic Charities, the Chicago Help Initiative, Lincoln Park Community Services, and more, that feed the hungry in our community. To get involved, please email Barbara Silva.
- Service Day 2021: Service Day 2021 will offer numerous opportunities to serve incredible organizations in our community both in-person and from home. This week-long event is a great way to explore your interests, skills, and passions in service of others. Click here to learn more and to register!

Opportunities to deepen your prayer life
- The Prayer Course: A six-week series featuring dynamic talks via video, small group discussion, and prayer exercises that will help you to deepen your prayer life. We will explore topics such as: Why Pray? And several different types of prayer including Adoration, Petition, Intercession, and Contemplation, as well as – What About When Our Prayer Goes Unanswered? - Rooted in the Church: An interactive short course hosted by Faith Hub Chicago that explores the foundational elements and core concepts of Catholicism. We will dive into topics like the scripture, tradition, the 7 sacraments, the social teaching of the Catholic Church, Mary, and more. - Love Your Neighbor- Prayer Pillar: An ongoing ministry to foster a community of spiritual support by praying for the special intentions of fellow parishioners and/or receiving prayer for your own intentions. Learn more here.
