2019 Children's Christmas Nativity
Children's Christmas Nativity
The Nativity at the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass has always been a festive, joyful occasion for Saint Clement families. The Christmas Nativity is fun for the children and gives them a sense of leadership and confidence. Most importantly it enhances their understanding of the meaning of the Christmas Scriptures and creates memories for your family and the parish community.

Calling All Sheep, Angels, and Shepherds: Open to Children in Grades 1-3
During the Mass, when we begin the telling of the Christmas story, we will invite children in grades 1-3 to come forward dressed as their respective part. First graders as sheep, second graders as angels, and third graders as shepherds.
They will sit around the altar and listen to the story as they sheep, shepherds, and angels who have gathered to hear the remarkable news of our savior's birth. These suggestions are a rule of thumb to have an equal distribution of parts. However, if you child has his or heart set on dressing as something other than what they have been assigned, please feel free to do so.
We will not have rehearsal for these children. Children will simply arrive in costume and sit with their parents for the Mass as usual. Older children have already volunteered for the action and speaking parts of the Nativity proclamation. We will call the sheep, angels, and shepherds up to the front of the church during Mass.
The costumes do not need to be elaborate, and homemade costumes are most welcome.
