Annual Catholic Appeal: Letter from Fr. Peter
Dear Members of Saint Clement!
Come, follow me … and bring hope to the world!
In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, our primary concern is the spiritual and physical health and welfare of all of our members. Taking seriously the call of Christ to serve one another, last October we started the new Love Your Neighbor Ministry, a path of mutual support and care that involves nearly 200 members now! We also recognize that we have a duty to care for those who are most vulnerable outside of our own community. Here at Saint Clement we do that in two ways: first, through the Clement Commits program that takes the first 10% of our collections and shares it with those in need and second, through the Annual Catholic Appeal. ACA directly supports the poorest communities across the city, provides funding for our Jail Ministry, Pro- Life Movement, Formation Programs, Police and Fire Department Chaplains, and commits over $500,000 to Catholic Relief Services.
When supporting the Annual Catholic Appeal, I always feel united with all Catholics across our Archdiocese in demonstrating our love of neighbor through the good works we are able to provide together. The Appeal drives the mission of our Archdiocese to teach, to serve and to sanctify, allowing us to carry out the work of Christ. As in the past, when we came together to support the critical impact of the ACA I hope, as a parish, we can join together during this time of uncertainty to continue to carry out works of mercy. Our annual goal to ACA is $131,000. Please consider joining me one more time in making your annual gift to the Appeal at annualcatholicappeal.com and continue our footprint of love and mercy across the Archdiocese.
With much gratitude,
Fr. Peter Wojcik, Pastor
