Clement Scouts Give Back at Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen
We couldn’t be prouder of our parish’s fifth grade Cub Scouts Pack 3000 Weblos II who volunteered for two and a half hours at the Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen on Friday, May 19. Together, they served over 200 hot meals and assembled 130 sack lunches for the less fortunate. They also served refreshments, cleaned tables and interacted with the evening's guests.
As part of their commitment to giving back, they donated $1,000 to underwrite the cost of the event. This made our Scouts especially proud as they earned every dime of that money selling popcorn! The attached picture shows our Cubs presenting the check to Ralph Metz, program coordinator.
We're confident that there were some impactful life lessons learned by all involved. Thank you to the scouts, leaders and parents who helped make this possible, and for your example of living our parish spirituality of stewardship!
