Steward Story: Jamie Trailov

As part of our ongoing engagement process, we have come to realize the importance of parishioners sharing their personal stories of how they have connected with Saint Clement as an important factor in their lives. As a feature twice a month, we share the stories and reflections of our engaged parishioners who are living a stewardship life of prayer, service, and giving. This week we hear from Jamie Trailov.
As a young married couple with a new baby in 2011, my husband, Jason, and I found ourselves in a difficult transition period of our lives, as many of our close friends had made the "big move" to the suburbs after they had children. We felt a bit lost and wanted to remain in the city but were unsure of who to turn to for support, friendship, and spiritual guidance. Jason and I were registered parishioners at a large parish in the city at the time, but we were in search of a new parish, one that we could call home. That's when we found Saint Clement. In joining Saint Clement, we realized right away that we were not just becoming part of a parish; we were becoming part of a community.
Through attending Mass on a weekly basis, donating to the Sunday Giving Commitment, volunteering with Clement Moms and Dads, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and participating in a variety of parish and school events, Jason and I have been fortunate enough to establish genuine friendships and relationships with fellow parishioners and Saint Clement staff. In reference to the parish anchors, we sincerely feel as though we belong.
When we were looking to enroll our older daughter, Aly, in preschool this year, we knew immediately that we wanted her to attend Saint Clement School, as the school is an extension of the parish family. Jason and I know that Aly, and eventually our younger daughter, Keira, will be provided with the tools and skill sets necessary to maximize their development as individuals - academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
Saint Clement has truly become a second family to us and is our home away from home. We look forward to our future endeavors within the parish community and to watching our family grow and develop as members of that community.
