Stories of Impact: The Difference Our Parish Family Makes through Clement Commits

House of Good Shepherd / Madonna House (Catholic Charities)

August 2021

Did you know that every time you make a donation to Saint Clement, you are contributing to our Clement Commits program and supporting the work of organizations serving the common good? Through Clement Commits, we donate 10% each fiscal year from our parish collections to worthy organizations.

One of our recipients is House of the Good Shepherd/Madonna House (Catholic Charities) which received a $10,000 grant through Clement Commits.

The mission of the House of the Good Shepherd/Madonna House (Catholic Charities) is to serve with love and compassion any women and children affected by domestic violence by offering a safe place with opportunities for emotional, educational, and spiritual growth, giving hope and continued support for a better future. Clement Commits funding will support the general operations of the HGS/Madonna House campus, including providing safe housing for women and children impacted by domestic violence, providing ESL, financial literacy, and other courses as well as activities like cooking and yoga, and ensuring mentorship and material resources for all families in the program.

Letter of gratitude sent to Saint Clement:

Dear Fr. Peter,

Thank you and your parish for your generous support of our Madonna House and House of the Good Shepherd campus. Your donation helps to ensure the provision of a safe, predictable, and stable environment for the families we serve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on our economy and social fabric, leaving thousands of people newly struggling and in need. Catholic Charities is here to serve and accompany them as one of the largest private, charitable organizations in the country. We rely on mission-driven people and organizations throughout our region to join us in caring for our neighbors, especially now.

Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness in supporting the House of Peace. Together we will continue to strengthen and support families and communities during these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,
