Thank You for your incredible support of our 2019 Jesse Tree!

Throughout Advent, Saint Clement parishioners generously supported 11 local organizations, fulfilling wish lists to assist their ministries during the Christmas season. Nearly all of the 1,400 tags were taken from the trees! Overall, as a parish, we were able to donate more than $12,435 in gift cards and donations, as well as more than 1,275 items of clothing, toys and more!
The following gives a breakdown of the distribution:
  • Catholic Charities Mujeres Floreciendo: 63 toys or art/science kits for children of newly arrived immigrants, $550 in gift cards.
  • H.O.M.E.: $2,520 in gift cards & donations for the elderly.
  • Immigration Ministry: 135 clothing items, including 46 winter coats as well as winter hats, gloves, & scarves for immigrant communities served by the Archdiocese of Chicago.
  • Lakeview Rehab & Nursing Center: 110 individual gifts of sweaters for residents.

We are truly grateful for the generosity of parishioners this year as well as the over 50 volunteers who contributed to making this year’s Jesse Tree such a success. Much appreciation goes to the tag makers, tree decorators, tag re-stockers, gift sorters, wrappers, shoppers, and charity liaisons.
An enormous thank you as well to the Jesse Tree committee, comprised of Colleen Jones, Julia Keller, Aylice Toohey, & Helen Wargel, who give so much time and energy to this project, and whose commitment continues to make this ministry better every year!
Thank you to all Saint Clement parishioners who donated to support the essential work of these agencies. If you’d like to learn more about any of these organizations or the Jesse Tree program, please reach out to Barbara Silva at
