In 2000 I got rid of my TV. It was a transition year as I moved from a rental into my first condo and I wanted to make a fresh start. A sense of clutter had crept into my life in the years following college and as I planned the organization of a new home it felt right to reconsider the many competing claims on my attention that crowded around me under one roof. Affordable TVs back then were not nearly as flat and enormous as they are today but they could make just as much noise and babble-ry which is why, in my de-cluttering mode, it was time to turn it off.

Parishioners Gather for New Architecture Presentations

On Sunday, April 10 after 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. Masses and again on Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m., parishioners gathered in Fireside to watch new animations and renderings of To Teach Who Christ Is capital campaign projects.

The presentation is recorded and available to watch now.

Our most significant capital campaign project will create truly welcoming and secure entrances within our parish complex.

3rd Sunday of Easter Reflection by Patrick Sinozich

In today’s gospel, Peter appears to have returned to his former life of fishing, filling the void left by the death of Jesus. (In moments of uncertainty, don’t many of us return to that which is familiar?) However, when Jesus arrives on the scene, revealing himself from the shore to the disciples, Peter (in the fishing boat) jumps into the water and swims to him, an impulsive response to the presence of the Lord, similar to when he ran to the tomb, after hearing from the women that it was empty. (In that case it wasn’t the presence of the Lord that propelled him, but his absence.)
