Friday Sack Lunches

For many years, Saint Clement parishioners have generously prepared sack lunches for the hungry, which are distributed from the parish every Friday morning. We are currently scheduling volunteers to make and deliver sack lunches for September-December 2021.

Volunteers provide 6 sack lunches for their assigned Friday, making the lunches from home based on guidelines we provide. Lunches are then dropped off at the parish on Friday mornings, between 8:30am-9:20am. Sign up once or get on a monthly scheudle - a wonderful act of service to complete as a family! For available dates, please email Fr. Matt Litak.

Hospitality during Friday Sack Lunches

Join other volunteers from our Parish and aid in offering coffee and hot chocolate to those who wait in line outside during our regularly scheduled Friday sack lunch program. Share in hospitality and conversation, and serve as a welcoming face of Saint Clement. We are also looking for volunteers to supply the refreshments for hospitality. To sign up to provide breakfast items/refreshments, please email Fr. Matt Litak

  • Dates: every Friday morning throughout the year
  • Time: 8:30am to 9:45am
  • Location: Front Lawn at Saint Clement

Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen

Once a month, Saint Clement volunteers assist volunteers from Holy Name Cathedral in serving Catholic Charities' Friday supper. As Catholic Charities has transitioned to meals served to-go, volunteers are needed to help box and package 225 meals every third Friday of the month.

Masks and gloves will be provided, and the workspace is large enough to ensure social distancing. Additionally, all packed meals are distributed by Catholic Charities security personnel outside of the building, so volunteers will not be in direct contact with guests.  For more information and to sign up, contact Joanna Krynski

  • Dates: Friday, August 20
  • Time: 11:30am-1:30pm (tentative timing; please note, the start time varies and will be shared with volunteers the week of the event)
  • Location: 721 N. LaSalle, between Huron & Superior

Lincoln Park Community Services

Twice a month, Saint Clement volunteers serve dinner for the Guests at LPCS! Volunteers prepare and serve a meal for the Guests, supplying all of the food and preparing it on location. If you would like to contribute but are uncomfortable serving in-person at this time, you can still participate by preparing all or part of a meal at home.
