30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Romans 1:16-25 | 2 Timothy 3:14- 4:2 | Luke 18:1-8
When our faith feels tested or our prayers seem unanswered, these readings remind us where to find strength. In his letter to the Romans, Paul boldly proclaims that he is not ashamed of the Gospel because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes. He reminds us that God’s truth is visible in creation, yet people still turn away. Faith in the Gospel brings light to the world, but when we distance ourselves from God, it brings darkness to our hearts. Paul continues this message in his words to Timothy, urging him to stay rooted in Scripture and to proclaim God’s Word whether it’s convenient or not. Scripture is inspired by God and meant to guide and shape us in righteousness. It is through the Word that we grow to live faithfully even when the world pulls us in the opposite direction. And in the Gospel, Jesus tells the story of a persistent widow who refuses to give up seeking justice from an unjust judge. Her perseverance becomes a lesson in prayer, a reminder that our loving God always hears us, even when answers seem delayed. Together, these readings invite us to stay faithful, and to hold firm to the truth of the Gospel, to let Scripture shape our hearts, and to keep praying with faith that God is listening.
