Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph

- Katie Bak, Sr. Director of Admin & Facilities

Today, as we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family, we are invited to pause and reflect on the gift of family in all its forms. The Holy Family—Jesus, Mary, and Joseph—reminds us that family is not only about blood ties but about love, faith, and commitment to one another. Their example calls us to cherish the relationships that shape and sustain us.

In their quiet life in Nazareth, the Holy Family shows us the holiness of the ordinary—daily routines, simple meals, shared work, and moments of prayer. God’s grace is present not only in extraordinary events but in the everyday acts of love and faithfulness that bind us together. This truth invites us to see our own ordinary lives as sacred spaces where God dwells.

We give thanks first for our biological families—the parents, siblings, children, and relatives who have nurtured us, taught us, and walked with us through life’s joys and challenges. They are the foundation of who we are, and their love is a blessing.

We also express gratitude for our church and community families, these groups of faith that support us in our spiritual journey and join us as we grow the kingdom of God together. These brothers and sisters in Christ encourage us to grow closer to God and remind us that we are never alone in our walk of faith.

Our work families or volunteer families deserve recognition as well. In the places where we labor and lead, where we give our time, talents and treasures, we often find colleagues who become companions, mentors, and friends. Their presence makes our daily efforts meaningful and reminds us that collaboration and care can transform shared spaces and experiences into communities.

Finally, we remember those “family” members who have left an imprint on our lives—friends, teachers, neighbors, and others whose kindness and wisdom have shaped us. Though not bound by blood, their love and influence remain etched in our hearts.

As we enter a new year, we warmly invite you to join our Saint Clement family in whatever way God is speaking to your heart right now—whether through worship, service, learning, or fellowship. Together, let us grow in faith and love, following the example of the

Holy Family and discovering and living out the holiness hidden in the ordinary moments of life.
