Celebrations of OCIA Initiations Continue

(Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)

(for the previous update, please scroll down and click the left arrow found towards the bottom of the screen)

This Saturday, November 8, at the 5 p.m. Mass, those unable to attend the October 5th celebration, will receive the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Alina Morena, Feng (Frank) Jin and Jaime Anglada will be baptized. Aleksander Milosevic and Matthew Greco will be received into full Communion with the Catholic Church. Confirmations will follow, as well as their first welcome to share in Christ’s Body and Blood at Mass, holy Communion.

As they are finalizing preparations, other members of our community have enrolled in the next OCIA process beginning November 17. While some are seeking baptism, others are baptized Christians seeking full Communion with the Catholic Church. We also include baptized Catholics who never completed their initiation through the sacrament of Confirmation and/or first Eucharist.

Did you know that godparents/sponsors, in addition to being practicing Catholics above the age of 16, are expected to be fully initiated, that is, they have received the three sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist? If you are invited to serve as a godparent or sponsor, that is the Church’s expectation.

Our Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 OCIA begins on Monday, November 17 and will lead to celebrating the sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil on April 4. We meet on Monday evenings from 7 – 8:30 pm. You can register here.
