Theology on Tap Chicago
A Summer Series for Young Adults Seeking Faith, Friends & Real Conversations
Looking for meaningful community and real talk about faith this summer? Theology on Tap at Saint Clement Parish is a dynamic speaker series for young adults in Chicago (ages 20s–30s). Each week, join us for an evening of reflection, authentic conversation, and connection — with refreshments and community included. Whether you're curious about God or deepening your faith, you’ll find a place to belong here. All young adults are welcome, whether you’re Catholic or not — come as you are!
Each night kicks off with 6:00 PM Mass in the church (totally optional but always meaningful), followed by time to hang out, grab some refreshments, and meet new people. Then at 7:00 PM, we’ll settle in for the speaker. See our 2026 summer details below!
Theology on Tap 2026 presents:
The Search for More
Tuesdays, July 7 - August 11, 2026
There’s a reason so many people today feel restless for something deeper.
In the middle of busy schedules, endless scrolling, career pressure, and constant noise, many of us find ourselves searching for more—more purpose, more connection, more peace, and a deeper sense of meaning.
This summer, Theology on Tap invites young adults in their 20s and 30s into that search together.
Join us for Theology on Tap 2026: The Search for More — six summer evenings of conversation, community, faith, and honest reflection on the questions that matter most. Featuring nationally recognized speakers, each evening offers an opportunity to explore life’s deeper questions, connect with others, and discover how faith speaks into everyday life.
Whether you’ve been practicing your faith for years, are full of questions, or are simply curious about spirituality and purpose, you are welcome here.
Come on your own or bring a friend—you don't have to navigate life's deeper questions alone.
Registration is required for each event.
2026 Speaker Schedule & Registration
July 7 - Fr. Mike Schmitz on “The Search for Purpose”
On our kick-off night of Theology on Tap, Fr. Mike Schmitz will explore how encountering Jesus transforms the way we understand both our purpose and our identity. In a world constantly telling us to define ourselves by achievement, status, or opinion, this talk invites us to rediscover who we truly are in Christ and the deeper meaning He gives to our lives. When our identity is rooted in God, we can live with greater clarity, confidence, and direction.
Fr. Mike Schmitz is a notable speaker, author and podcaster, serving as Dir. of Youth & Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Duluth and chaplain at University of Minnesota Duluth.

July 14 - Emily Wilson on “The Search for Real Connection”
Emily Wilson invites us to reflect on how every relationship in our lives—friendships, family, dating relationships, and community—can draw us closer to God and shape us into the people we are called to be. Through an honest conversation about accountability, vulnerability, and authentic connection, this talk will explore how healthy relationships help us grow in virtue, deepen our faith, and trust God's plan more fully. When our foundation is rooted in Christ, we can better discern the qualities we are called to cultivate in ourselves and the ways we are called to love and serve others.
Emily Wilson is a Catholic Speaker, Author and Co-founder of Sacred Spark
July 21 - Fr. Pete McCormick on “The Search for Success”
In a culture that constantly pushes achievement, status, and success, what does it mean to live a successful life as a Christian? Fr. Pete McCormick will explore how we can pursue ambition, excellence, and meaningful work without losing our identity in Christ. This talk will challenge the idols of money, power, and recognition while offering a vision of success rooted in purpose, humility, and lasting fulfillment.
Fr. Pete McCormick is Campus Minister at Notre Dame
July 28 - Sr. Stephanie on “Finding God Through Service”
Sister Stephanie reflects on why service is at the heart of the Christian life — not as an obligation or checklist, but as an invitation to grow closer to God. In a culture that often asks, “What can I get?”, this talk explores the deeper question of faith: “How is God calling me to love and serve others?” Through serving those in need, we discover purpose, belonging, and the joy that comes from living the Gospel authentically.
Leaning in to the life of the trinity – giving of yourself is essential to living this out.
Sister Stephanie serves at Mission of Our Lady of the Angels
