Friday Ministry Concludes — New Hospitality & Sack Lunch Opportunities

New Opportunities to Serve through Hospitality and Sack Lunch Ministries
After many years of faithful service, Friday Hospitality at Saint Clement will conclude after September 25th’s event. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped create, sustain, and support this ministry over the years, including through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To better serve our neighbors in need, we are combining resources with St. Teresa of Avila Parish and shifting our hospitality efforts to its Saturday morning food pantry, where individuals and families are already gathering for assistance. At the same time, our Sack Lunch Program is expanding to a new Tuesday and Thursday drop-off schedule.
Current volunteers should have received an email explaining how they can remain involved. Whether you have served for years or are new to these ministries, we invite you to continue this shared mission in two ways:
Saturday Hospitality at St. Teresa's
Consider being part of the group that will provide hospitality to the guests of St. Teresa of Avila's food pantry on Saturday mornings. This food pantry serves up to 120 guests every Saturday morning. Saint Clement will welcome the guests while they wait to shop by offering coffee and a sweet breakfast. For an overview of the expansion to the Sack Lunch program and next steps, we encourage you to join the newly created Sack Lunch Program Group by registering HERE. We have options to drop off sack lunches on Tuesdays or Thursdays during our parish office hours, supporting St. Mary of the Lake Parish and Lincoln Park Community Services. Sack Lunch Ministry
Thank you for your interest in providing sack lunches for the hungry in our community! Your support helps us extend Christ’s care to more of our neighbors in need.

Saint Clement parishioners are expanding our outreach ministry to support food-insecure immigrant families served through St. Mary of the Lake Parish (4220 N. Sheridan). This is in addition to our existing sack lunch program that serves Lincoln Park Community Services (1521 N. Sedgwick) Drop-in programs.
This effort depends on generous volunteers who commit to providing six sack lunches on their selected service dates. You will now have the choice to commit to preparing lunches for either Wednesday and/or Friday programs. Volunteers will receive an email on Fridays to sign up for the upcoming week's needs.
Guidelines for what to include in each lunch
Each week, volunteers prepare six sack lunches at home and drop them off at parish office (642 W. Deming). The lunches include:
1 lunchmeat sandwich on white or whole wheat bread/roll, cheese is optional but always a nice addition (no condiments); please wrap the sandwich or place it in a separate baggie.
2 hard-boiled eggs or pieces of string cheese
1 bag of potato chips or pretzels (or something similar)
1 piece of soft fruit (i.e. orange, banana, grapes)
Dessert (i.e. cookie, candy bar)
Beverage (i.e. juice box, can of soda, or small water/sport drink)
Sack Lunch Drop-Off Times
All lunches should dropped off at the reception desk of Saint Clement’s parish office (642 W. Deming).
TUESDAY DROP OFF: drop off on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
THURSDAY DROP OFF: drop off on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
