Today we mark the first anniversary of the election of Pope Leo XIV, our first American, and native Chicagoan, Vicar of Christ.
On the way home from his recent visit to four African nations, he repeated a well-known phrase of Pope Francis, which the Pope spoke to welcome 500,000 young people to World Youth Day in Lisbon, August 3, 2023. Pope Leo XIV: “Francis’ well-known expression ‘Tutti, tutti, tutti’ is an expression of the Church’s belief that all are welcome; all are invited; all are invited to follow Jesus, and all are invited to look for conversion in their lives.”
Saint Clement is a community offering welcome and opportunities for conversion. Our OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a community of welcome for all who seek a deeper relationship with Christ through the community of Christ’s Church.
We welcome people seeking a relationship with Christ: those seeking baptism, baptized Christians seeking to join in full communion with the Catholic Church and Catholics who have not completed their Sacraments of Initiation: Confirmation and/or First Communion.
Registration for our summer OCIA is now open. We begin next week, May 11. We are hosting two cohorts, one on Monday evenings led by Ed Harasim and another on Thursday evenings, led by staff member, Victor Lara. Don’t delay registering or reaching out for more information!
Please email Fr. Radley Alcantara, Associate Pastor, or Ed Harasim, OCIA Coordinator, for further information on the process of joining the Church or completing your sacraments of initiation through Confirmation and/or First Communion.
