Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Sundays at the 9:30 a.m. Mass | Ages 3–6

COMING SOON!
Held most Sundays during the school year at the 9:30 a.m. Mass

At Saint Clement, we believe even our youngest members can encounter the love and Word of God in meaningful ways. During the school year at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, children ages 3 to 6 are invited to participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)—a special time just for them to hear and reflect on the Sunday Gospel in a way they can understand.

After the Collect, children are joyfully dismissed from the main assembly to their own sacred space, where trained catechists lead them in song, prayer, and age-appropriate storytelling and reflection on the Gospel of the day. They return to their families during the Offertory to continue celebrating the Eucharist together.

CLOW helps children:

  • Grow in love for Scripture

  • Engage through music, storytelling, and visuals

  • Begin to form their Catholic identity in a warm and welcoming setting

  • Feel they belong in the Mass and parish community

This program is specially designed for children who have not yet received their First Communion. No sign-up is required—just come and join us!

Program Details:

  • For: Children ages 3-6

  • When: Sundays during the 9:30 a.m. Mass

  • Dates: Begins September 14, 2025 and follows the Saint Clement School calendar with reminders before each Mass.

Help Form the Faith of the Next Generation

Are you someone who loves sharing your faith and enjoys working with young children? Join our CLOW catechist team! We provide training, resources, and ongoing support—no teaching background is needed, just a joyful spirit and a desire to help little ones fall in love with Jesus. You will need to be Virtus Certified to be a catechist.

Gen Alpha thrives on creativity, story, and connection—and our catechists play a key role in making the Gospel come alive for them.

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, or young adult, we’d love to have you be part of this meaningful ministry.

👉 Interested in becoming a CLOW catechist? Email Barbara Sifter to get involved.
All catechists and volunteers need to complete the
